Ohio City Power Friends create beautiful sought-after hand tied flies for fly fishing. The Federated Flies program is a skills training and employment project at Ohio City Power. The program trains people how to tie flies for fly fishing. With spring just around the corner in Northeast Ohio, the fish will be biting again soon!

Local talent is invaluable to catalyze interest and shift community attention to enterprise development. Federated Flies craftspeople undergo an assessment process and are required to complete four, two-hour training sessions at minimum wage with a private evaluation at session close prior to generating product.

Albert Wagner, Ohio City Power Fly Tyer, has studied fly tying with expert instructor Jim Newell, and is now producing flies for sale at the Ohio City Power e-Store. Both Bead Head Estaz Egg and Bead Head Woolly Bugger Streamers are crafted for sale. Store sales are a source of income for tyers.

New businesses often start with an idea, some know-how, and a few willing friends. The Fly Tying program began as a small initiative and over many months, developed into a regularly scheduled weekly program, training Ohio City, Ohio homeless and jobless in a skilled craft.

Ohio City Power Store products are a source of revenue for the homeless and jobless. Visit the Federated Flies page at the Ohio City Power e-Store. If you or someone you know fly fishes, be sure to purchase several of these quality products!
