Federated Flies News From Albert Wagner

Images © Alice Merkel Photography.
Ohio City Power Friends create beautiful sought-after hand tied flies for fly fishing.

Updates: Federated Flies projects, member employment, and a group request to connect to expert instructors.

From Albert Wagner, Ohio City Power, Operations Manager, Federated Flies:
"The four fly tiers have been working on an order for the Trout Club at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The order is for 180 wooly buggers for their Annual Banquet in mid-April. The tiers are excited to work on the flies and apply what they have learned so far. At this point they are interested in learning how the fishermen want the finished woolly buggers to look and how close the flies are to that. Some of the group is ready to devote more of their time to fly tying, as they are getting more used to tying. Bill Kopec, a member of Federated Flies, has also taken advantage of an opportunity to pursue a job through a contact from Ohio City Power. He said he would even like to continue fly tying as he begins a new job. And, after they are done working on the order for the Trout Club, they are ready to complete more orders. A new instructor has not yet begun. If there is a new instructor, the group is interested in learning how to make different types of flies."
